Full instructions and strategy basics

Your Chiefdom icon cycles through all your units. ⏳ cycles through units that still have population available to move.

🏘️ cycles through visible City plans first, then your Khanate’s cities.

⛰️ Mountains are impassable terrain, not Zones. They block movement and the sailing edge they occupy; population and Cities cannot occupy them. Select a Mountain for its explanation.

Tick order

1. Apply moves. Apply pending movement orders, transferring population between Zones.
2. Conflict. In overcrowded Zones, Khanates fight first, then Tribes and Chiefdoms if needed. Smaller groups lose population first.
3. Cull. Apply Zone capacity, then the higher worldwide Chiefdom and Tribe population thresholds, with 16-unit Chiefdom protection against the latter culls.
4. Proliferate. Eligible surviving groups offer one birth for a singleton or two for a larger group. Active Chiefdoms receive grace towards 12 total units first, across all islands; unused births then need room under both the Chiefdom’s limit and its Tribe’s counted allowance. The Tribe excludes each Chiefdom’s first 12 actual units; unused exemption cannot be shared. Each group keeps its original birth budget.
